What to Expect from CAPS Grade 6 Life Skills

Grade 6 Life Skills completes the Intermediate Phase Creative Arts and Physical Education curriculum — consolidating technical skills, developing creative confidence, and preparing learners for the more specialist Senior Phase approach. EdSoft's module ensures every learner finishes Grade 6 with genuine creative and physical capability.

Creative Arts

Visual Arts consolidates and extends technical skills — three-dimensional art forms, digital art appreciation, and critical study of South African artists are introduced. Music develops performance and theory skills to a level of genuine musical literacy. Drama extends to more complex performance projects — devised work, studied scripts, and the development of directorial and design thinking. Dance consolidates technical technique and compositional skills, with extended cultural and historical study.

Physical Education

Grade 6 Physical Education develops sport-specific skills, tactical thinking, and leadership in physical contexts. Learners take increasing responsibility for game organisation and officiating, developing physical autonomy and sports literacy alongside technical skill.
